We're sorry, this alert is no longer available.

The short explanation of this alert was:

Miller and Coors have just joined forces, and they say they want to "become the best beer company in America." They can't do that if they keep sellling dangerous and deceptive alcoholic energy drinks.

After threats of litigation from the Center for Science in the Public Interest (CSPI) and an investigation by 11 state attorneys general, Anheuser-Busch, Inc. agreed to stop producing and marketing caffeinated alcoholic beverages such as Bud Extra and Tilt.

(Learn more and read the settlement documents)

Now it's time to train the spotlight on MillerCoors, maker of the Sparks line of alcohol-energy drinks. Sparks products contain 6% to 7% alcohol and are laced with stimulants like caffeine, taurine, and ginseng. And Sparks is aggressively marketed to underage youth using tactics denounced by the state attorneys general and public interest groups like CSPI and the Marin Institute.

TAKE ACTION
Write to the MillerCoors president, demanding that the company follow Anheuser-Busch’s responsible leadership in taking alcoholic energy drinks off the market.  IMPORTANT: For maximum impact, customize the sample letter below, perhaps citing your role and experiences as a parent, addictions professional, health care provider, etc.
